M2T leads engineering and project management support to the GWEO GWPC GMLRS program, including support to commercial procurement and acting as the Commonwealth of Australia technical lead in contract negotiations with Lockheed Martin. M2T has worked closely with Lockheed Martin and GWEO to support certification and the progression of Australia’s first locally assembled GMLRS capability.
The program required Australia to establish a new sovereign GMLRS assembly capability, including a new Port Wakefield facility, while satisfying applicable Australian and US standards and progressing from facility establishment and assembly through testing and live-fire. It required close coordination between Defence, GWEO, Lockheed Martin and other stakeholders.
M2T provided approximately five personnel across engineering and project management, supported commercial procurement and acted as the CoA technical lead during contract negotiations with Lockheed Martin. M2T led the engineering effort supporting certification of GMLRS to Australian and US standards and worked closely with Lockheed Martin to progress the capability from manufacturing setup through testing and firing.
M2T played a central engineering and project-management role in establishing and certifying the Australian GMLRS capability. The program progressed from a greenfield manufacturing facility at Port Wakefield to assembly, certification, testing and the successful April 2026 live-fire at Woomera. Defence publicly confirmed that the first 12 Australian-manufactured GMLRS were successfully test-fired, marking a significant milestone in Australia’s sovereign guided-weapons manufacturing capability.
